| Description: | Auburn, Washington typically receives designation from the Veterans Day National Committee and the US Department of Veterans Affairs to serve as a Regional Site for celebration of Veterans Day. Auburn has hosted the Veterans Day Parade since 1965. Auburn's parade has grown into the largest Veterans Day parade west of the Mississippi! The purpose of Auburns Veterans Day Parade is to positively focus on honoring our country's veterans and active military personnel. Through the parade, we focus recognition on congressionally-recognized Veteran Service Organizations and their auxiliaries, the military and reserve military, National Guard and ROTC. Join the City of Auburn for the 47th annual Veterans Day Parade, the largest of its kind, west of the Mississippi. The parade is on Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 AM. The parade boasts over 5,500 parade participants, including 25+ marching bands, military vehicles, veterans' units, honor guards, antique military vehicles/equipment and more. The parade is kicked off with an impressive C-17 Fly-over, supported by the US Air Force at McChord Field. The one-mile parade route travels west along Main Street to A Street NW. High School Bands will perform in two locations: Main and D Street NE and at the City Hall Plaza area (Main and Division), which is where the parade emcee, judges and Dignitary Review Stand is located. Other related activities include: Auburn American Legion Post #78 Breakfast The Veterans Day Breakfast is held on Saturday, November 10 from 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM, held at the Auburn Senior Activity Center, 808 Ninth Street SE.
