Description:

From Oroville May Festival Website:

In honor of our 81st year, and to celebrate our beautiful location on Osoyoos Lake, our theme is: "Walk On The Wild Side." We're planning a fun filled weekend starting Friday night at 7:00 p.m. for the Coronation of our May Festival Royalty, with a mini parade following. We invite royalty from surrounding communities to join us in our coronation.

Saturday's events start on beautiful Osoyoos Lake with the Annual Bass Tournament for all fishermen. All runners get ready for the 37th Annual Fun Run, starting at 8:00 a.m. For the early risers, you don't want to miss the famous American Legion Pancake Breakfast, and the ever-popular 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament put on by the Oroville Booster Club.

Following the parade, the festivities kickoff at the high school lawn with the May Pole Dancers. Always fun for kids, children's activities and games will be held on Ben Prince Field behind the high school provided by the Oroville Masonic Lodge. A delicious barbecue lunch will also be available at the south end of the high school lawn.

The May Festival Committee is working on new events for our 80th May Festival, so look for these during the weekend's festivities also.

The parade starts at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 10. Plan to be lined up by 8:30 a.m. for judging. You'll be given your line-up number that morning as you arrive. Parade staff will be there to assist and give you direction. We would love to see a huge turnout of entries in our parade. We are encouraging every business, club, community organization, or community member to start planning now to put an entry in the parade. And we would love to see other communities and organizations throughout Washington represented in our parade also. Our 80th May Festival is truly an event that is worth celebrating and we look forward to seeing you in the parade.
