Description:

From 24th Annual Skagit Valley Highland Games & Celtic Festival Website:

Please join us for the 24th annual Skagit Valley Highland Games & Celtic Festival, July 14-15, 2018, at Edgewater Park in Mount Vernon, WA. Held the second full weekend each July, this Festival attracts over 10,000 people each year. We think of it as a kind of Scottish 3-ring circus, with a wide range of activities for young and old alike.
The Skagit Valley Highland Games is part of an annual circuit of Scottish competitions held in the Pacific Northwest and Lower Mainland of British Columbia. As such, the quality of performers in solo bagpiping and drumming competitions, bagpipe bands, fiddling, traditional Scottish athletics (the heavy events) and Scottish Highland dancing is at an extremely high level.
Features of the Skagit Valley Highland Games include athletic competitions, bagpipe and drumming competitions, Highland dance competitions, a beer and whisky garden, sheepdog trials, clan and culture tents, childrens activities, musical performances, and much more!
We are pleased to welcome dogs at the Skagit Valley Highland Games. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and human companions are responsible for cleaning up after their four-legged friends. We understand that many visitors to our event really appreciate that were one of the very few Highland Games left that allows pets. We have made this decision at considerable expense (increased insurance) and because animals have played such a vital role in our culture over the years. Whether sheepdog herding, hunting or just providing companionship, there is a very strong bond with animals in our tradition. Please be a responsible pet owner and help us keep this an enjoyable and safe event for everyone.
